MULTAN: PML-N Vice-President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said on Friday that parliament as well as the president and the prime minister should resign over the memo controversy.
Speaking at a public gathering in Khairpur Bhutta and Qasim Bela, the PML-N leader said the issue had created a crisis in the country and many changes were expected in a couple of weeks.
“We should pray that these changes are positive because the outcome of the conflict between the president and the army will not be good,” he said.
He said it was unfortunate that the president had chosen to get medical treatment abroad, adding it was a pity that whichever political party came to power it became involved in corruption.
He said the military, bureaucrats and politicians were all responsible for the fall of Dhaka and added that even more painful was the fact that they were still not ready to learn any lesson from that incident.
“While Bangladesh has been making progress in leaps and bounds since gaining independence, we have no electricity and gas, and our railways and planes are grinding to a halt,” the PML-N leader lamented.
