MIRAMSHAH: The proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on Rangers' vehicle in Karachi and said the TTP will continue to target the security personnel.
Talking to this correspondent by phone from an undisclosed location on Monday, TTP spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan said they had taken revenge for the death of three militants who blew themselves up to avoid arrest in Karachi. He said that an explosive device was planted along the road that hit the Rangers' vehicle near Safoora Chowrangi on Saturday.
Three personnel were killed and four others wounded in the blast, he added.
The spokesman said that such attacks would continue. Rejecting reports about talks with the government, he said unless Pakistan abandoned the US-led alliance in Afghanistan the Taliban would not hold peace talks with the government.
