Idle in Ibrahim Hyderi

In the Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi literacy rates are low, the youth is deprived of education even though the area has its share of private and government schools.

Various not-for-profit organizations are  working to facilitate the local youth and residents; the Citizens Foundation topping the list. The school, regarded as the haven for local students, provides  educational services to enrolled students as well as counselling services to parents. Yet many of the young people remain idle or are working in the fishing business with family members.  A look around the streets of Ibrahim Hyderi -- Photos by Dawn.com
