KARACHI, Dec 7: At least two people died and eight others fell unconscious after drinking toxic liquor in different parts of the city on Wednesday, police said.

They said that reports of the toxic liquor consumption were received from Jehangir Goth within the remit of the Tipu Sultan police station where Shakir died after drinking toxic liquor while five other people who had also consumed it were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in an unconscious state.

In a similar incident in Christian Colony within the remit of the Zaman Town police station, 35-year-old Maqsood died after drinking toxic liquor while two other people who had also drunk it were shifted to the JPMC in an unconscious state.
