Pakistan lack finishing touch in 0-0 Bangladesh draw

KARACHI: Pakistan and Bangladesh played out a 0-0 draw in the opening match of the 2011 SAFF Championship at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India.

Pakistan, who were playing their first match under new coach Zavisa Milosavljevich,  put up a decent display but the Green Shirts were wasteful with their chances and their often-threatening tactics on the field were not converted into goals.

Faisal Iqbal had an opportunity to score before half-time but sent it wide and later in the game, Kaleemullah and Shakir Lashri also missed chances to score.

Bangladesh came close to scoring in the dying minutes of the match but were denied by skipper Jaffar Khan's excellent save.

Pakistan play their next match against Maldives on Sunday.
