KARACHI, Nov 18: Seven ships carrying containers, general cargo, high speed diesel and to load rice are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where six ships were berthed to unload and load containers and ethanol. They are: Izumo, Bunga Keneari, Med Keelung and Global Paramount to unload and load containers, Shamrock Star to offload chemical and load ethanol, and Vigour to unload crude oil.

Sailing on the other hand was light as only two ships, Huayun-5 and Johar departed, while Bunga Kaneari, Med Keelung, Global Paramount, Kota Wirawan and Izumo are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy was maintained on the higher side thanks to steady berthing and sailing rising to 67 and 88 per cent both at the oil piers and dry wharves respectively.

A total tonnage of 0.108m tons comprising 7,432 tons of export cargo including 2,502 tons of wheat and 0.101m tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Al-Maqwa, with high speed diesel, Sinar Bontang, APL Adalian, with containers, BBC Gibralter. Leyi, with general cargo, Cape-B with seeds and Marine Trade to load rice.
