Butt and Asif unhappy with attention

KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt and fast bowler Mohammad Asif have told their lawyers that they want to finish serving their respective sentences in Pakistan, The Independent reported.

Butt and Asif were found guilty of spot-fixing during the England tour last year. The duo complained that they felt threatened by fellow inmates and they attention they were receiving and would prefer completing their sentence in Pakistan.

The pair were recently moved from Wandsworth Prison to Kent's Canterbury Prison for foreign nationals.

Butt is serving a sentence of two years and six months while Asif has been sentenced for a year.
