KARACHI, Nov 16: Three lucrative events, including the richest Paragon Cup ramazan cricket tournaments, will begin at various grounds of the city from Saturday.
Other events include A.O. Super Cup and Karachi Gymkhana festival.
The newly launched Paragon Cup, sponsored by Universal Leasing, will be played at both the grounds of the UBL Sports Complex. The event carries a record purse of Rs600,000 with the winners to get Rs300,000 and runners-up Rs150,000.
Landhi Friends will take on Tapal Cricket Club at “A” ground and Malir Gymkhana will clash AO Cricket Club at ground “B” on the opening day of the 28-day tournament being competed by 17 teams.
The Rs400,000 A.O Super Cup will also get underway at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium from Saturday with 16 featuring in the event.
Hosts Asghar Ali Shah Stadium will take on Megacom Cricket Club in the 20-over-a-side opening match.
The added attraction of the tournament is Rs25,000 each for four sixes or four fours by a batsman in an over.—APP
