Two injured

LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 16: Two persons sustained serious Kalashnikov bullet injuries the other day in Wanda Kalan, some five kilometres from here.

According to reports, some friends were chatting when just before Iftar they got agitated over the use of some foul words and grappled with each other.

Later, Matiullah Jan and his cousin, Mir Zali Khan, went home and returned with a 30 bore pistol. As they appeared on the main Lakki-Bannu road, six others allegedly ambushed them and started Kalashnikov fire, inflicting serious injuries to the two cousins.

Matiullah Jan received bullets on his leg while Zali Khan on his buttocks. They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital where the latter was admitted while the former was referred to Peshawar for advanced treatment.
