ISLAMABAD, Nov 14: The Allama Iqbal Open University in collaboration with the ‘Common Wealth of Learning’ will start new executive programmes of business administration (MBA) and public administration (MPA), says an official statement.
This was stated by the AIOU vice-chancellor, Dr Altaf Hussian, at a meeting with a delegation of College of Army Education, Upper Topa, Murree.
He said the two programmes of administrative sciences would be offered in spring semester 2003.
He said MBA and MPA were being offered simultaneously in South Asia including four countries of the commonwealth: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
He said the syllabus of MPA and MBA, to be taught in the respective universities of these countries was prepared by the academics of the four countries. The degrees would be signed by both the AIOU vice-chancellor and representative of Common Wealth of Learning, he added.
Leader of delegation Brig Margoob said the AIOU was spreading all levels of education to every nook and corner of the country.
The delegation also visited the radio and TV studios of the varsity. Earlier, the faculty of social sciences dean, Prof Najeeb A. Khan, and director students affair Shagufta Haroon briefed the delegation about the educational system of the varsity.
