KARACHI, Nov 14: A judicial magistrate remanded on Thursday a woman, who had stabbed to death her parents a couple of days ago, in police custody for interrogation.
Yasmeen, the 38-year-old divorcee, was produced before the JM, South, Rahmatullah Moro, who gave her in the custody of police till Nov 21.
She stabbed to death her father, Abu Nasar Faizi, a retired general manager of the Pakistan Telecommunication Limited, and mother, Sajada Begum, in their house in Defence Housing Authority a little before Iftar on Tuesday.
Talking to newsmen at the City Courts, where she was brought by police for her remand, the woman said she killed her parents as they used to call her insane.
She said her parents forced her to marry Adnan against her will. She also alleged her parents had been giving her sedatives for the past two years.
The alleged killer woman said she had been deprived of her two sons due to her parents, who handed over the children to her former husband against her wishes. She said her parents allowed her children to see her only once in a month. “Even my children used to call me insane at the instance of my parents,” she said.
The judicial magistrate, Central, Alia Anver, remanded a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in police custody for interrogation in the murder case of labour leader Pasha Gul.
Suspect Naveedul Hasan was arrested on Wednesday by the Nazimabad police for his alleged involvement in the murder.
The 45-year-old labour leader was shot dead on Nov 6 in Paposhnagar by two unidentified motorcyclists.
WITNESS CALLED: The judicial magistrate, South, issued summons to the inspector-general of the Sindh police, Syed Kamal Shah, and others, including five army officers, to record their statements in an inquiry into a direct complaint against the chief of the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee and 19 others, including a senior superintendent of police, for involving an army officer in a Hudood case.
Major Mohammed Zargham Mirza, being represented by Waqar Shah, advocate, had lodged a direct complaint before the judicial magistrate for registration of criminal case against 20 respondents, including Jamil Yousuf and A. D. Khawaja, under sections 182, 500 and 506 of PPC.
According to the army officer, he was implicated in a false case by the respondents, who plotted a conspiracy to defame the Pakistan Army.
Those made respondents in the complaint included Zaeem Iqbal, ASP, Lubna Tiwana, then SHO of Women Police Station, Inspector Abdul Hakim Bangash, Azhar Elahi and Sharf Memon.
The JM issued notices of appearance to Col Ashfaq, Lt-Col Ahmed Khan Joya, Lt-Col Ayaz Khan, Lt-Col Ali Haider Raza, Major Arshad, the IG Sindh, Judicial Magistrate Perveen Shah and four others.
