LAHORE, Oct 19: Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Raja Riaz has written a letter to the interior minister, requesting him to constitute a judicial commission to probe alleged corruption in various schemes including Sasti Roti of the Punjab government.

In the letter, Mr Riaz said corruption had been reported in schemes like yellow cab, Sasti Roti, spurious dengue spray and a number of construction contracts without tender.

“The Punjab government’s corruption will be exposed if an independent judicial commission holds an inquiry into these allegations,” he said.

He said the federal government should reopen the corruption cases against the Sharif brothers and also challenge their dual nationality in the court of law. He said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was not ready to listen to anyone including the opposition as he believed in “solo flight”.

He said the chief minister’s style of governance had resulted in the outbreak of dengue in the province.

Raja Riaz said the PML-N was losing popularity in Punjab and the Sharifs were even afraid of Imran Khan’s PTI. He said the PML-N was running away from the local polls which could show its popularity graph.
