RAWALPINDI, Nov 13: Civil judge Ambreen Qureshi on Tuesday sent two girls accused of committing minor theft to jail as there was no one to put up bail for them.
The two sisters, Shakeela and Nabeela, 10 and 8 years old respectively, were brought to the court by women police along with their mother, Rozeena, for allegedly committing theft in a house, where they worked.
Surriya Begum lodged an FIR with the police stating that girls along with their mother were working in her house and had stolen some clothes and quilts.
The judge sent the mother to jail and maintained that the girls could be released on bail provided they furnish a surety bond of Rs10,000.
The girls said they could not arrange for the surety amount as they belonged to Peshawar and had no relative in Rawalpindi.
ARREST WARRANT: The additional district and sessions judge, Rawalpindi, Mian Mohammad Shafi issued warrants for the arrest of policemen for not appearing as witnesses in a drug-trafficking case.
The same court also rejected bail application of an accused allegedly involved in a murder attempt.
