The 17-year-old girl, Shahnaz Jatoi, was killed on the pretext of Karo-kari allegedly by her parents, brother and uncles a few days back.
The judge, Ali Ahmad Jan, fixed Nov 16 as the date to exhume the body in Saleh Bhagal goth in the jurisdiction of Hatri police station.
Jan was directed by the district and sessions judge, Parkash Lal M. Ambwani, to look into the matter after DPO A. D. Khawaja filed an application before the sessions judge, requesting him to allow the exhumation of the body in presence of a magistrate.
The DPO in his application said he had learnt through an SHO of the Pinyari police station that Shahnaz had been killed by her mother, brother and uncles in Lalu Lashari goth.
He said her mortal remains were buried in a graveyard in Saleh Baghal goth.
Reports said Shahnaz, a resident of Buffalo Colony, Hatri police station jurisdiction, had eloped with Abbas Jatoi. Abbas took away the girl on Nov 5 after his proposal was refused by the parents of the girl.
The relatives brought the girl back to her home after an exchange of fire with Abbas.
The paternal uncle of the girl, Nazeer Jatoi, was injured in the firing.
The girl was then taken to the house of her maternal aunt, Jamila, in Lalu Lashari goth, where she was reportedly strangulated.
The family of the girl, however, claimed she was electrocuted.
The body was taken to the civil hospital but no autopsy was conducted.
The police have picked up the girl’s mother, Nasreen, father, Umer, paternal uncle, Aslam, and maternal uncles, Sikandar Jatoi and Hashmat alias Neko Jatoi, for investigation.
