PARIS, Nov 13: A former head of Marks & Spencer has been named as the new operational head of France’s equivalent of the CIA, the DSGE — Direction generale de la securite exterieure.

The agency is responsible for the collection of intelligence outside France, and has been playing an increasingly important role in the US-led ‘war against terrorism’.
