PNSC to acquire four more ships: Babar Ghouri

KARACHI: Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) will add four more ships to its existing fleet in the next few years, said Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping, Babar Khan Ghouri here on Thursday.

“We intend to boost the profit of the PNSC which is contributing to the exchequer to a great extent,” he said while addressing a press conference after presiding over a meeting with its Chairman Vice Admiral Saleem Ahmed Menai and senior officers following his resumption of the Ministry's charge.

The Minister said that the government will leave no stone unturned to support PNSC which was gradually improving its performance compared to past years.

“We are also making further efforts to prepare a strategy to make the Corporation a viable institution,” he pointed out.

He said that recently the employees of PNSC were given bonus shares.

“I am fully satisfied with the performance of the PNSC under the present circumstances and economic recession world over,” he said.
