Building a home, away from home

Doongro and his family were poor farmers working for a Sindhi land owner, they lost everything when flood waters drowned their land, crops and homes a month ago. Now they live in a small farm in the outskirts of Karachi, trying to re-build the life they lost.

Coming from a low caste Hindu background, they are hesitant to live at a government funded relief camp, claiming they have no community members there. Instead, a land owner, who had employed some of their family members in the past, has allowed this family to stay and work on his lands in Gadap Town.
