HYDERABAD, Oct 9: Convener of the Sindh Progressive Nationalist Alliance (SPNA) Dr Qadir Magsi has praised the verdict of the Supreme Court on Karachi violence and said nationalist parties of the province hold similar views.
He was talking to reporters at the conclusion of a meeting of the alliance held at the office of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party inQasimabad on Sunday. Those who attended the meeting included Sindh United Party president Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah and Awami Tehreek leader Qadir Ranto.
Dr Magsi said the SPNA always believed that the PPP government and its coalition partners were responsible for terrorist activities, targeted killings and extortion in Karachi.
He said the Supreme Court had made similar observations and observed that the federal and provincial governments had failed to curb bloodshed in the city.
He demanded implementation of the Supreme Court’s decision about elimination of no-go areas, terrorism, target killings, extortion and land grabbing. He said it was necessary to end political appointments in police and cleanse Karachi of weapons.
