KARACHI, Oct 1: Experience prevailed as Habib Bank brushed aside Sindh 3-0 to win the team title in the all-Pakistan Master’s Cup women’s table tennis tournament at Abbottabad on Saturday.

According to the results, with the exception of Shama Hasan, reigning national champion Ghalia Mohsin and international Sadia Yasin fought tooth and nail before handing out 3-2 defeats to their respective opponents.

Sadia surged her team ahead defeating two-time Karachi champion Qurratul Ain 11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 8-11, 11-3. Ghalia consolidated her team’s position by prevailing over former under-15 national champion Abeera Ali 9-11, 11-5, 14-12, 3-11, 11-3 while Shama routed Farah Ilyas 11-6, 11-8, 11-6.

Meanwhile, bank-mates Ghalia and Sadia have made it to the singles final by winning their respective semi-finals on the penultimate day.

The former accounted for Shama Hasan 11-7, 15-13, 11-13, 11-9, 5-11, 12-10 while the latter overwhelmed Seemab Alam 9-11, 11-6, 10-12, 11-3, 5-11, 11-4, 11-5. The final will be played on Sunday.
