Pakistan lost to arch-rivals India by 3-2 in the 16th Asian Volleyball Men’s Championship in Tehran on Monday.
India claimed first two sets by 25-23 and 25-23 to take a 2-0 lead. But the men in the green-shirts bounced back in the match winning the third and fourth set 25-19 and 25-18 comfortably to level the arrears.
However, the Indians eventually prevailed in the tie-breaker, winning15-13.
On Sunday, Pakistan lost its match earlier 25-11, 25-14, 25-18.
In spite of losing two back to back matches, Pakistan ended among the top eight teams in the pool matches and have claimed a place in quarterfinals, which begins Tuesday.
Pakistan earlier defeated Kazakhstan and Thailand, victories which propelled them into quarters.
