Mumbai: Indian ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh was rushed to Lilavati hospital Friday morning after he suffered from brain haemorrhage.
He will be undergoing a surgery, an Indian media report said. Hospital sources said his condition is critical and he will be under observation for 48 hours.
He was brought to hospital around 9:30am and rushed to operation theatre, given his critical condition. According to a senior doctor at hospital, blood clots were removed in a three-hour long procedure.
He was scheduled to perform Hindi, Urdu & Punjabi ghazals at a concert with renowned maestro from Pakistan Ghulam Ali at Shanmukhananda auditorium Friday night.
"Fever Entertainment" which is organising the concert said that owing to sudden hospitalisation of Jagjit Singh, singer Hariharan is performing in his place.
