LAHORE: Pakistan’s tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq has vowed to launch efforts to improve the condition of Pakistan Tennis Club, Peshawar which is in a pathetic condition despite its historical background as it was founded by father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
“Pakistan’s top tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi was terribly upset upon learning about the pathetic state of this historic tennis club in Peshawar,” a press release issued by Aisam’s family said on Tuesday.
“He would like to see this club rehabilitated and fully operational once again and has offered to give his full support to KPK Tennis to make it happen.
“Aisam suggests that KPK Tennis, with the help of Pakistan Tennis Federation, may initiate a fund-raising campaign to generate necessary funds for the rehabilitation of Pakistan Tennis Club Shahi Bagh, Peshawar and he will be pleased to join hands in this campaign for achieving the desired target,” the press release added.
“Let us all work together to rehabilitate this important national asset which has a significant association with the name of the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam.”
