KARACHI: A joint force of FIA, Coast Guards and Frontier Constabulary would be established on the Sindh-Balochistan border to check for movement of terrorists and smuggling of arms.

This was decided at a meeting here on Saturday chaired by Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

The meeting was also attended by FIA's Sindh Director Moazzam Jah, Deputy Director FIA Immigration Malik Subeh Saddiq, head of FIA Counter Terrorism Azad Khan, and Director General Coast Guards, Brigadier Shahryar Khan.

The minister said that the purpose of the post would be to monitor and control the movement of terrorists and check for inter-provincial gun-running as well as for curbing the smuggling of fuel from Iran via Balochistan province.

All concerned authorities would coordinate with each other to establish the check posts, the meeting was informed.
