Exporter’s house looted

SIALKOT, Nov 6: Dacoits looted the house of an exporter in Malkay Kalan, Sialkot city, on Tuesday night.

Four dacoits stormed into the house of Zulfiqar Ali around midnight and made hostage all family members. They escaped with US $ 22,000, Saudi Riyals 600, gold ornaments, cash, electronic goods and other valuables. The loot is estimated at Rs4.2 million.

Muradpur police registered a case, with no arrest.

In 16 strikes during the last 48 hours in the district, dacoits, robbers and thieves have taken away around Rs7 million worth valuables and cash.

CHAMBERS’ BODY: The chambers of commerce and industry of Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat have established a joint action committee.

The presidents of Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat chambers would be the members of this committee.

According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, SCCI president Muhammad Sadiq Goraya said that the three industrial cities have been declared ‘golden export triangular’ of Pakistan.

He expressed grave concern over the ‘rising atrocities’ of sales tax department officials against the business community of Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujrat.
