GILGIT, Nov 2: Some activists of the defunct Tehrik-i-Jafaria Pakistan manhandled Northern Areas Deputy Chief Executive Fida Nashad, SSP Gilgit Dilpazeer and three other policemen of the federal minister’s escort.

Sources said the TJP men had gathered outside the offices of the Northern Areas chief secretary where the cabinet meeting was in progress.

They wanted to call on the minister to discuss the issue of Islamiat’s syllabus. When police tried to stop them, they manhandled the officials. But later, the activists dispersed peacefully.
