ABBAS Nasir’s article ‘Of personal views that aren’t’ (July 22) was a treat to read. As regards the blame on the TV reporter who invited Zulfiqar Mirza to make an inflammatory speech, may I be allowed to say that it is the duty of journalists to extract information from different sources to feed news to their channels and newspapers, a job for which they are paid.It is the test of political leaders, more so, ministers to avoid questions and refrain from uttering words which are unpleasant, unsavory and which are likely to incite violence. Whoever has seen Mirza delivering his fiery speech would agree that he was using the full faculty of his oratory.

But he certainly failed the ‘test’ of being an astute politician.
