KARACHI: Hosts South Korea thrashed Pakistan 4-0 in the Davis Cup Asia Oceania Zone group two second round rubber in Gimcheon city on Sunday.
The Koreans, who seized a commendable 2-0 lead over Pakistan by winning both the singles on the opening day, won the best of five battle when the duo of Young Jun Kim and Yong-Kyu Lim beat the Aisam-Aqeel pair 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 4-6, 13-11 in the marathon doubles.
Young Jum Kim outplayed Yasir Khan 6-0, 6-0 in the first reverse singles that was of academic interest. The other reverse singles between Yong-Kyu Lim and Aqeel was not played.
The Koreans progressed to third round where they are drawn to meet Thailand from Septemebr 16 to 18.
