KARACHI, Oct 25: Switching network expansion and upgradation in digital transit exchange Pak Capital Karachi is scheduled for October 27 from 0230 hrs to 0300 hrs.

Telephone customers whose numbers start with digits 4,5,8 and subscribers of mobile/ pre-paid calling cards are therefore informed that an interruption in the telephone traffic may occur due to technical reasons from 0230 to 0300 hrs on October 27, says a press release.

SEIZED: A team of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Karachi and Darakhshan police raided an illegal internet cable operator working at flat 7/C, A/5, Stadium Market, DHA Phase-V, Karachi.

The system had been operating since January 2002 with a capacity of 17 subscribers. Dedicated ISP connection was obtained from M/s Sat Net and the subscribers were availing themselves of the facility at the normal cost.

The team confiscated the equipment used to extend the facility— server, external modem, and N-way switch.
