Girl recovered: Madadgaar Helpline and the CPLC recovered, on October 24, a 22-year old girl who was severely tortured and molested for two months by her own father in Buffer Zone, North Karachi.

On October 23 at 6 pm, Madadgaar Helpline, 111-911-922, received a call from the girl. She sobbed as she asked for help, narrating her ordeal that her own father raped her after giving her a high dose of sedatives.

She said had been confined to her house as her father did not allow her to meet anyone so that she could not reveal the terrible truth.

On information by Madadgaar, the police raided house R-465, sector 15-A-I in Buffer Zone, and recovered the girl. The police also arrested the girl’s father Ameer Ahmed.

The victim told the police that her mother was divorced in 1986 by her father and she, along with her two sisters, started living with their mother. Due to financial constraints, her mother admitted her to Edhi Centre in July 2002, from where her father took her to his home in Buffer Zone.

She said her father did not allow her to meet any one. He would give her high doses of sedatives and rape her. He threatened to kill her in case she disclosed the heinous crime to anyone. To hide his crime, Ameer Ahmed spread the rumour in the neighbourhood that his daughter had gone insane.—APP
