PESHAWAR, Oct 24: The inspector-general of police has taken a serious notice of increasing number of crimes in the southern districts of Kohat, Bannu, Lakki and Hangu.
Presiding over a meeting here on Thursday to assess law and order situation in the Kohat region, IGP Saeed Khan took serious notice of cases of kidnapping, carjacking and directed senior police officials to take firm steps to curb such crimes.
DIG Kohat Ghulam Mohammad Khan, SSP Bannu Usman Zakeria, SP Lakki Abdullah, SP Karak Mohammad Ali Babakheil and SP Hangu Mohammad Idrees Khan were also present in the meeting.
The IGP further issued directives to adopt strict measure against criminals and apprehend the wanted outlaws in the districts.
He warned that those found either adopting passive approach against criminals or having hand in gloves with them would be sacked.
He directed the police to launch a campaign against proclaimed offenders.
