KARACHI, June 1: Uni-foam Falcons beat Shezan Eaglets by 20 runs to win the T20 Pentangular Women Cricket Tournament at the KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
Having won the toss, Falcons elected to bat first and put on 137 runs in 20 overs. Batool Fatima hit six fours to score 31 in 24 balls while Iram Javed made 22 in 10 balls with the help of four fours. Some fine bowling from the Eaglets saw little Almas Akram picking up two wickets for 18 runs as Sadia Yousaf too took two while giving away 28 runs.
Later, Eaglets managed to make 117 for five in their 20 overs. Nazia Sadiq remained the top scorer with 45 runs and was declared the Player of the Match.
Falcons’ captain Javeria Wadood accepted the winners’ cheque of Rs50,000 while Nain Abidi and her team Eaglets had to remain content with the runners-up prize of Rs25,000. Mariam Hasan Shah of Rose Petal Dolphins was declared the Player of the Tournament.
