LAHORE, Oct 23: The reconstituted committee of the Punjab Writers Welfare Fund decided on Wednesday to publish English translation of verses of five sufi poets and a new Punjabi dictionary.
The committee which met here also decided to either arrange publication of the books of poor writers in the Punjab or to give them funds for the purpose.
It was decided to publish English translation of the poetry of Waris Shah and Mian Muhammad Bakhsh’s Saiful Malook with detailed explanatory notes and commentary.
The committee has already completed spade work on a new Punjabi dictionary and a detailed presentation would be made during its next meeting on how to publish it.
The committee has Rs20 million in its accounts and it gives grant of Rs15,000 to Rs50,000 to the deserving writers and poets for the publication of their works.
