Earthquake jolts NWFP

PESHAWAR, Oct 23: An earthquake of mild intensity jolted the Peshawar valley in the wee hours on Wednesday.

According to the preliminary analysis of meteorological station, an earthquake originated at 0230 hours, and its epicentre was about 50 kilometres east of Peshawar near Chitral in NWFP.

The magnitude of the earthquake on the international Richter scale was 4.0.—APP
