MULTAN, Oct 22: Two graduates of the Bahauddin Zakariya University have been nominated for the Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Science Award for the years 2001 and 2002.
According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, the award is given to the students who secure first position in the MSc Physics examination of the top 10 state-run universities of the country. The award was launched in 2000.
Samina Rasheed and Imran Malik Awan secured first positions in the MSc Physics examinations 2001 and 2002, respectively, of the BZU.
The award ceremony is scheduled to be held in Islamabad on Wednesday (Oct 23).
Renowned scientist and National Engineering and Science Commission chairman Dr Mubarak Samarmand will preside over the ceremony while federal finance minister Shaukat Aziz will be the chief guest.
