Man kills nephew for money

PESHAWAR, May 8: A schoolchild was killed allegedly by his uncle and dumped his body near his father's grave at Shaikh Haider Baba graveyard here the other day.

A complainant Khan Gul, who is maternal uncle of the victim, told this correspondent that Usman, 9, disappeared on Thursday afternoon and despite hectic efforts the family could not find him.

He said that on Saturday morning they were informed about the presence of a body near the grave of Kamran (father of the child), who had died a month ago, and as they reached the spot police had shifted the body to hospital.

Mr Gul claimed that before shifting the child's body to home the accused Imran, who is uncle of the victim, had demanded through SMS message Rs100,000 as ransom for release of the boy. He said that the body had been badly mutilated.

Mr Gul said that Usman was a grade-III student and the accused wanted to grab his father's money by pressuring the family.

A police official said that an FIR had been registered against Imran (35), who had already shifted his family to Mardan.
