Legal aid centres for five districts in Sindh

KARACHI: Free legal aid centres would be established in five districts of the province, said the Sindh Minister for Human Rights, Nadia Gabol here on Thursday.

Gabol said that initially these centres would be set up in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu and Ghotki.

The minister said that the people would be apprised about basic human rights and legal advice would also be given at these centres.

Gabol also pointed out that a toll free complaint centre number has also been established for the registration of complaints. "All complaints of urgent nature are conveyed to the concerned officials immediately. Cases are also referred to the reconciliation committees functioning under the Director Human Rights. Meanwhile, the women police stations are also being streamlined to improve their functional capacity."
