KARACHI: Pakistan Navy are in control of the second Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Shooting Championship after another successful day at Karachi’s PN Bahadur shooting range.

Navy raced to 15 golds on day two of the championship as their shooters bagged a staggering 11 gold medals. They have also won seven silver and two bronze medals.

Pakistan Army are placed second with two gold, seven silver and four bronze medals, while Pakistan Air Force stand third with one, one and five.

Earlier, on Monday, Navy bagged four gold medals, as their shooters set the bar high for the rest of the participants.

The sailors won team gold in the rapid-fire pistol category, while their shooter Massam Ali Khan won gold in the individual event with a score of 561/600.

Army’s Siddique Umer edged out Ayaz Tahir ( Navy) by five points to clinch the air rifle gold, while the team gold in the same event went to Navy.

Naval sharp shoosters claimed the gold in rapid-fire pistol team and individual events. They also added Air Rifle and 50 Meter Free Pistol team golds to tally.

Newcomer Massam Ali Khan grabbed the Rapidfire indvidual gold for Navy by scoring 561/600.

Siddique Umer of Pakistan Army won the Air Rifle individual gold by accumulating 587/600 points while Kaleemullah Khan of PAF surprised many fancied shooters to grab the gold in 50 meter Free Pistol event.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Air Force’s sole gold game in the 50-metre free pistol category when Kaleemullah Khan surprised favourites Navy to win the individual gold. The sailors bagged the team event for their fourth gold medal of the day.

Over 100 shooters from across the country are participating in the competition, which concludes on April 29.
