KARACHI, Oct 18: Four ships carrying containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where five ships, Hammurabi, Global Paramount to unload and load containers, Banglar Kallot to offload raw jute, Tigris to unload iron scrap and Frontier Express to unload gas oil were berthed after the departure of six.
The ships, which sailed out included Hammurabi, Global Paramount, Amster Grachs, Keiko, Berkotka, and Jorogn, while Wan Hai-303, Frontier Express, Oriental Bright and PONL Thekwini are due to sail out on Saturday.
Berth occupancy at the oil piers fell to 33 per cent, while it was maintained on the higher side at the dry wharves at 52 per cent.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 74,699 tons comprising 12,609 tons of export cargo including 3,407 tons of wheat and 62,090 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Hyundai Bridge, PONL Thekwini, Iwato, with containers and Kassiakos, with general cargo.
