University student abducted

RAWALPINDI, April 19: A newly-married female student of the University of Arid Agriculture was abducted last week, police said on Tuesday.

MA, the husband of the victim – an MSc student – dropped her at the university last Thursday for attending an evening class. He came back at 7:30pm to pick her up. But after an hour's wait, the wife did not come out of the university.

“I sent a message on her cellphone but she didn't respond. But after sometime she called and said she was going home in a taxi. But she didn't return,” the husband said.

After searching for his wife on his own for five days, the husband finally sought the police's help on Tuesday and lodged an FIR.

He suspected that his wife was abducted by her classmate, who belonged to D G Khan. Police said the missing student was last seen with the classmate in the university.

Meanwhile a 16-year-old girl, who had taken poisonous pills, was brought to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital on Tuesday. Doctors said Gul Zarina, a resident of Doltala village near Gujar Khan, was in critical condition.
