LAHORE, Oct 16: The PML-Q, at an informal meeting of important leaders here on Wednesday, decided to keep all options open for the formation of its government at the centre.

It was decided that talks should be held with all parties to ensure a strong democratic system.

Mian Muhammad Azhar, the party president, presided.

The participants expressed their satisfaction over the election results and credited the leadership of Mian Azhar for the victory.

They said the results had exposed the rivals’ claims for their votebank and established in clear terms which was genuine faction of the Pakistan Muslim League.

It is said that some participants advised Mian Azhar that he should resign as president which the party would reject immediately to retain him in the leadership seat. However, some others opposed the idea on the ground that there was no justification for such a step when the party had emerged as the single largest group. However, the situation would clear on Oct 19 when the party’s central working committee meets in Islamabad to review the post-election scenario.
