LAHORE: Frontier College made an impressive start at the National Women’s Football Club Championship, with a 7-1 win over Striker FC at Peshawar on Friday.
A first-half hat-trick from Ayesha and a brace each from Sidra Rauf and Rabia Zaman made up for Frontier College’s score while Mehroon’s lone goal came as a consolation for Striker FC.
Frontier College started the fourth edition of National Women Football Club Championship on winning note in Group-D when they thrashed Striker FC 7-1 at Frontier Women College Peshawar City on Friday.
Meanwhile, Fata failed to turn up for their match against Peshawar Women FC and as a result, conceded a 0-3 defeat.
Eight teams from the National Women’s Football Club championship will be promoted to the National Women’s Championship. The top two teams from Lahore and Islamabad zones and winners of the Quetta, Karachi and Peshawar zones will qualify for the promotion berths.
There will be no match on Saturday and the championship will resume on Sunday with Peshawar taking on Frontier (3.30pm) and Fata playing Striker FC (5.00pm).
