LARKANA, Oct 1: Respon-ding to the call of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Larkana, a large number of doctors, paramedics, vaccinators and clerks took out a procession against the Kambar police on Monday.

The procession started from the Taluka headquarters hospital, passed through various areas of the town finally stopping in front of the local press club.

It was led by Dr Ikram Tunio, president, PMA, and Surgeon Abdul Waheed Memon.

Addressing the protesters, the PMA leaders lashed out at the Kambar police for falsely implicating Dr Siraj Jaj in a fake case and for severely torturing him.

They said the police had gone beyond their limits and misused their power.

They demanded that the case be probed so as to bring to book the policemen who had lodged a fictitious FIR against the doctor.

They welcomed the new SSP, Ghulam Nabi Memon, and pinned hope for impartial inquiry into the incident and the highhandedness of the Kambar police.

ROBBERS HELD: The Kambar police arrested two robbers, M Azam and Taj M Brohi, near Burirawah, while a third managed to escape on Monday.

Police recovered two TT pistols from their possession.
