HYDERABAD, Oct 14: The Market and City police have registered three counter cases against activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi) following armed clashes on Oct 10 as a result of which three people, two of them Haqiqi activists, were injured.
The Market police have lodged an FIR against 15 activists including those of the Haqiqui on the complaint of Prof Shah Azmat Ali, a member of the Muttahida veterans committee, under sections 147, 148, 149, and 506(2) PPC.
Those who have been nominated as accused in the FIR included Haqiqi leaders Riaz Qureshi, Mohammad Irfan alias Pappu, Tariq, Nadeem Omer, Javed alias Babu, Taufiq, Safdar, Salahuddin, Atiq, Aftab, Shakeel Mota, Saeed Ansari, Waheed Shah, Irfan, and Asif Lodhi among others.
The city police station lodged two FIRs, one of the Muttahida and the other of the Mohajir Quami Movement, following the armed clash on Oct 10 in Bhai Khan ki Chari.
The first FIR was lodged on the complaint of Mohammad Jamal, a worker of the MQM-H under sections 324 of the Qisas and Diyat Ordinance, 147, 148, and 149 PPC.
The case was lodged against Iftikhar, Imran (both brothers), Naeem Din, Naeem, and four unknown persons.
A counter case was lodged by the city police regarding the same incident on the complaint of Engineer Naeem Ishtiaq (Muttahida) against Riaz Qureshi, Irfan alias Pappu, Nadeem Omer, Tariq, Safdar, and Asif among others.
The FIR was lodged under sections 324 of the Qisas and Diyat Ordinance, 506(2), 427, 147, 148, and 149 PPC.
The complainant alleged that the accused had attacked the Muttahida’s zonal office.
No one was arrested till the filing of this report.
