GUJRANWALA, Oct 13: A former district president of the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan involved in a murder case was arrested from Lahore on Sunday.
Rana Ghulam Sarwar had escaped after killing a union council Nazim in Model Town over an election row some time back. The Model Town police, on a tip off, conducted a raid and arrested him from Lahore.
The slain Nazim was the brother-in-law of the accused.
ARRESTED: Eminabad police arrested 12 suspects and recovered illegal arms from their possession here on Sunday.
Police claimed the accused were planning a robbery at a filling station when a police mobile arrested them after a brief encounter. A Kalashnikov, a rifle, two pistols and a carbine besides several rounds were recovered from them.
A case has been registered against them.
