PESHAWAR, Oct 13: Awami National Party’s central executive committee would meet here on Oct 27 to discuss the party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan’s resignation and election results.

According to a press release issued here on Sunday, ANP’s information secretary Haji Mohammed Adeel said that the CEC’s meeting has been convened by the party’s acting chief Ihsan Wyne.

Apart from discussing the ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan’s resignation from the party position on moral grounds following his defeat against Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal candidate on NA-7 (Charsadda-I), the committee would also discuss the election results in addition to national and regional issues.

The meeting, to be held at Bacha Khan Markaz (ANP’s central secretariat), would also give the ANP’s provincial chapters programme for holding party elections for the next term.

Before the central executive committee meeting, contained the ANP’s press release, the provincial cabinet of the party’s NWFP chapter would also meet at Peshawar.
