HYDERABAD, Oct 13: The president, Awami National Party (Sindh), Qamoos Gul Khattak, while commenting on the results of the general election, said that his party had sacrificed the assembly seats because of its principled stand on the Afghanistan issue and it had loudly spoken about the ground realities instead of deceiving the people on the basis of religion.

In a statement issued on Saturday, he termed the decision of Asfandyar Wali Khan and Begum Naseem Wali Khan from their posts as historic, and added that the Pakhtoon nation needed the courageous leadership of Wali Bagh.

He said the religious parties had obtained votes by exploiting the religious sentiments of the people but this unnatural alliance was ultimately bound to fail.

He expressed satisfaction over the success of the PPP and the MQM in Sindh.
