‘People to bring Islamic revolution,’ says Munawar Hussain

LAHORE: Jamaat-i- Islami (JI) chief Munawar Hassan on Wednesday said that the people will bring an Islamic revolution in Pakistan.

Speaking at a gathering organized on account of ‘Pakistan Day,’ Hassan said that Jamaat-i-Islami had started a ‘public contact’ campaign in which 2.5 million people will take part.

He said that Raymond Davis’s release was the connivance of Punjab government, in which the central role was played by Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah.

“Despite all claims the Punjab government could not recover the US embassy car that crushed a Pakistani citizen, Abdul Rehman,” said JI chief.

Hussain claimed, President Zardari had $114 billion and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif had $104 billion worth assets outside the country while the people of Pakistan were being deprived of food.

The gathering was led by Munawar Hassan, Liaqat Baloch and Siraj-ul-Haq. After the gathering “Go America go” slogans were chanted.
