JUI-F celebrates success in Tank by-elections

PESHAWAR: According to unofficial projections, JUI-F’s candidate candidate Ghulam Qadir Khan Bittani won the by-elections in the provincial assembly constituency of PF-69 Tank by 3,333 votes.

Bittani succeeded by 16,319 votes whereas former provincial minister Habibullah Khan Kundi, who contested the election as independent candidate secured 13,668 votes. Moreover, Dawar Khan Kundi of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) secured 12,986 and came third.

Supporters of Bittani rallied in Tank on his victory and a large gathering was also organised near the JUI-F office in the region. Maulana Fazlur Rehman addressed the gathering through telephone and thanked the people of Tank for their support.

“The people of Tank have showed unity with the JUI-F and we will fulfill their expectations,” said Fazlur Rehman.

A total of 21 candidates contested the by-elections in PF-69 Tank for which polling was held on March 21.

The candidates were: Ghulam Qadir Khan Bittani, Habibullah Khan Kundi, Dawar Khan Kundi, Ayatullah Khan, Alhaj Mohammad Saeed Khan, Jan Alam, Khan Badshah, Dr Sheikh Ahsanullah Khan, Ms Rahat Afshan, Rasheedullah Kundi, Sajjad Ahmad Marwat, Asmatullah, Qismatullah Miani, Liaqatullah Khan, Mohammad Javed Khan Tarokhel, Mustapha Kundi, Malik Gulistan Khan, Nazar Hayat, Nek Badshah, Waheedullah Kundi and Wali Jan.
