LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday rejected the bail of Moonis Elahi Chaudhry, son of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Pervez Elahi, DawnNews reported.
Moonis Elahi in response said that a conspiracy had been hatched against him.
The hearing for the bail application was conducted in the court of LHC Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry.
The FIA’s Additional Director Zafar Qureshi informed the court that the investigation against Moonis Elahi had been completed and in order to recover the amount it was now necessary to arrest Moonis.
Moonis Elahi’s lawyer, S M Zafar, adopted the stance that the FIA was an investigation agency and not a debt collection agency and therefore his client’s bail be extended.
Subsequently, the court dismissed Moonis Elahi’s interim bail application.
Speaking to media representatives outside the court, Moonis said all the allegations against him were false and that he no longer had faith in the FIA.
He said that a conspiracy was being hatched against him and the role of more institutions would soon become known.
