LAHORE, Oct 9: The Punjab cabinet approved on Wednesday the establishment of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency.
In its meeting at the Governor’s House, the cabinet decided that the agency would provide consultancy to the tehsil municipal administration concerned regarding the allocation of land and formulation of environment protection related policy for the establishment of housing societies for low income people. It would also prepare master plans for big cities.
The agency would serve as a link between the provincial and district governments regarding the implementation of the national housing policy. The cabinet expressed its satisfaction over arrangements for “smooth polling and maintenance of law and order” on Thursday. —Staff Reporter
